I spent most of Monday putting together this "behind the scenes" demo for my boss, it's supposed to show how he filmed our Jaguar spot using this camera rig that's mounted on a (badass) Chevy truck. It's compiled out of footage that was shot with a RED camera (which is supposed to be the most film-like digital camera, but my boss hates it and thinks it looks like shit) and also combined with the actual 35mm footage from the car-mount camera. It was then posted up so that some potential clients in Japan could check it out. Now you can too!

P.S. The music is by Jackson & His Computer Band... stay tuned! Because pretty soon I'm going to put up my actual cut of the Jaguar footage which is mmmmmmindblowing!

dogg... did you ride in that el camino? because you're mad max from now on. was that out in the desert somehere?
I have never had the chance to get anywhere near that awesome vehicle yet. I hear that the focus puller ALWAYS pukes when they shoot because he has to sit in there sideways and stare at the screen that shows what they're shooting while he adjusts the focus. If you look really closely at it one of the stills shows my boss sitting in there and you can see the fake bullet holes on the side. I might put up a higher-res version. They shot in the desert out near Palm Springs.
man, that was wicked awesome. how does one become the driver of that el camino?
fuck that... how does one become the driver of the jaguar?
that's crazy - in the post-production parts, it looks like the jag is going 180 mph, but it's behind that el camino that has to be doing, like, 40.
